(NPC) Autolycus the Thief

Autolycus the Thief (born 7 November 40 BQ - 3 April 197 AQ) was a skilled rogue and acrobat who stole the Crystal of Will from the Gith in 19 AQ on the orders of Aeneas the Dragon Slayer.   Born in Farrah before the unification, Autolycus avoided fighting in the dragon wars. He stole from Dragon's hoards and human vaults alike. Autolycus is the only living creature to visit Godfall and leave alive, although he refused to ever speak about what he encountered in that tower.   It was this feat that drew the attention of the Dragon Slayer, who paid Autolycus to steal the Crystal of Will from the descendents of Aos. Both men knew this action would doom the Gith to a centuries long death, but went ahead with the plan in the hopes of saving the remaining races of Farrah from the Dragons.   Autolycus entered the Holy Sanctum of the Gith and took the crystal, escaping to the surface with pursuers close on his tail. Autolycus employed the Crystal of Will escape and fake his own death. He delivered the Crystal to the Dragon Slayer. Aeneas asked Autolycus to join The Companions, but Autolycus refused.   Autolycus spent the remainder of his life in the northern town of Ernas. Guilty over his part in dooming the Gith, Autolycus spent his later years campaiging for the rights of gnomes across Farrah. In 174 AQ he encountered The Will Hunters and gave them assistance in finding the hiding spot of the Crystal of Will.   Autolycus remained in Ernas during the second battle of Quarinth, just as he did the first. He remained there until 3 April 197 AQ, when a group of Gith entered the town and approached his shop. Customers at the time describe Autolycus as seeing the Gith, nodding, and leaving quietly with them without a fight.   Autolycus was not seen from that day forward.         Campigns Autolycus appeared in: Dragons of Farrah
