(PC) Welby the Great (TS)

Welby the Great (145 AQ - 342 AQ) was an adventurer, survivor of the second battle of Quarinth, traitor to Farrah and founder of the independent country of Levinas. Welby was a halfling, and member of The Will Hunters.   As a young adventurer, Welby was hired by the Gith to recover the Crystal of Will from its hiding place in Farrah. Welby assisted in uncovering this crystal and instead delivered it to King Tyche of Farrah. Welby then accompanied Tyche to Mt Quarinth. Welby fought dragons while many of his friends gave their lives to power the spell to slay Unos. After King Tyche killed Unos, Welby's companions turned on the King to try to retake the Crystal of Will. Tyche slew them, and Welby surrendered.   Welby was sentenced to life imprisonment for conspiring with traitors, the otherwise dead Will Hunters. Welby managed to escape his prison and fled across the wasteland. There he campaigned successfully to create the independent country of Levinas, which he was became leader of.   Welby died at sea when his ship was sunk in a storm.   Welby's descendents continued to rule the country, with their lineage demonstrated by the ability to wield the Sword of Levinas, a flaming rapier. This rule ended in 488 AQ when Farrah invaded and annexed Levinas. The last descendents of Welby fled the country. They were tracked down by Jasin Nateal (DT) and brought to Vanimo to be interrogated by the Harpers. They perished when the forces of the Vetala stormed the Harper base after its location being revealed accidentally by the Advengerers.   Welby the Great was played by Tom Stubberfield.   Campaigns involved in:
