Mayor of Shanksville Groot
Groot was created by the goddess Ehlonna when she felt pity for the unlucky Rocket. Rocket was a young child-gnome who wandered into the forest and was cursed by the trickster god Ralishaz into being a raccoon. Unable or unwilling to break the curse, Ehlonna instead created Groot to watch over and raise Rocket.
The two have a strong bond and Rocket is the only person who can really understand what Groot says when he speaks.
