Byskat Doring'Bos

Byskat is native to Athame, being enrolled at a rather young age into the University due to her aptitude with magic and understanding of the Deus Crystals used in spellcasting. Her young age often takes people aback, but she is well respected in her field and her name resonates across Fearann ùr.
Her research culminated in the discovery of something known as "Doring'Bos Fever," the moniker pulled from her name as a reward for the work she performed towards the discovery. Doring'Bos Fever is the study of how consumption of the Deus Crystals can effect varying Fauna. Most prevalent in the Athame region, creatures that consume a large amount of Deus Crystals will often become enraged and act dissimilar to their natural instincts. Doring'Bos Fever is one of the primary reasons the Draco Venatores must exist within Athame, as dragons that succumb to the fever often become enraged and aggressive towards the Athame natives.
Byskat also has an interest in the origin of the Deus Crystals. She subscribes to one of the more accepted theories that the Crystals are gifts from the Titans themselves but she wishes to learn more about their origins to see if there's any reasonable way to reverse the effects of Doring'Bos Fever. Due to all the known Titans being crystallised or fossilised, Byskat's dream is to one day find a living Titan, so that she could perhaps learn more from it...

Doring'Bos Fever

Doring'Bos Fever is the study of how consumption of the Deus Crystals can effect varying Fauna. Most prevalent in the Athame region, creatures that consume a large amount of Deus Crystals will often become enraged and act dissimilar to their natural instincts. Doring'Bos Fever is one of the primary reasons the Draco Venatores must exist within Athame, as dragons that succumb to the fever often become enraged and aggressive towards the Athame natives.
The fever can also effect the sentient races of the continent, though is only often seen when a caster casters an extremely large amount of spells in a short time, or perform the casting of a spell that would absorb many crystals at once. It's rare, but there have been times in recorded history of people succumbing to it.
