The Deep

Known to most cultures by different names, the Deep is a large expanse of ocean that wraps around the continent of Fearann Ùr. A titan still roams these waves, and ensures that nobody can escape the continent and search further. To those that have grew up on Fearann Ùr, this is nothing more than standard practice, and therefore people simply believe that it is the will of the land. However, to those with more forbidden knowledge, they understand that the continent is under quarantine, and this titan of the Deep is just one of the measures set out by the pregenitor races to ensure that those who currently reside on Fearann Ùr, stay there.
To those who do get to explore the Deep, they find a beautiful expanse of water that is filled with wonders, treasure, and even forgotten locations. There are long lost civilisations that sit upon the sea bed; there are graveyards of ships that dares to venture the waves; and there are untold riches of those who wished to pay tribute to the titan. However, each expedition meets the same end. Not a single survivor, and those who somehow managed to relay a message back to the mainland, whether through magic or other unknown means, talk of beast of unthamoable size that roams the waters, hunting. It has taken down fleets of ships, swallowed even the largest Galleons whole, and those that manage to compare themselves to its size cannot believe the difference.
However, all hope is not lost. Whilst the Deep titan stops the people of Fearann Ùr from leaving, it serves another purpose. Out there, somewhere in the Deep, a small island remains. A paradise amongst the waves that if the rumours are true, denotes itself to the origin of humans.
