A widow, Darla has lost interest in her career as the proprieter of an inn in the declining backwater town of Magfield (if she ever had any to start with). When The Missing Horses met her, Alun Coalshield immediately attempted to engage her in conversation and upon a frosty response, attempted to suggest she find a new career path more suited to her interests. She didn't seem to take this advice on board and Mae Greenbrook before the party left town, snuck into her rooms and familiarised herself with Darla's late husband's handwriting enough to forge a note from the dead man to try and convince the woman to make a better life for herself or at the very least cheer her up.
