The Verdi had always been a normal-ish family who had lived in Oviexo for a few generations. At least until Elvira Verdi was born...

History

Elvira Verdi was an adventurous girl in her youth. Her parents were very strict and proper, which meant she tried to rebel against them at every opportunity. At the age of 14 she snuck in a party for adults, in which met a charming man named Rubeo Rosso who was almost twice her age. Elvira pretended she was ten years older than she really was, Rubeo believed her, and they spent the night together. They saw each other a few more times after that, with Elvira always lying about her age, until Elvira realised she was pregnant. Her family was furious and contacted Rubeo despite her protests. Upon learning that he had been dating a 14 year-old girl and gotten her pregnant, Rubeo was horrified. He promptly apologised and offered to help the girl get an abortion (as well as never see her again after that). Elvira, however, wanted to have the child. Another argument with her family ensued, until it was eventually decided that she would give the child for Rubeo to raise when they were born. Elvira did not want to give up baby Scarlet, but her family eventually forced her to. Rubeo was advised to move to another city or country to raise the baby, and he did so as soon as he could. Elvira never saw Scarlet again. After such an “embarrassing” episode involving their daughter, the Verdi looked for something that would restore the “honour” of their family. Fortunately for them, it was about the time the Montanhas were looking for people who would agree to have a Virility Test with one of their children. The Verdi thought that there would be no better way to write over the shame of an unwanted child than by having a noble child instead. Elvira at first did not want to be part of this old-fashioned tradition, but once she met Nuno she agreed he was hot enough that she would enjoy it. They slept together a few times until Elvira was pregnant again. The child of Elvira Verdi and Nuno Montanha was called Leporella. The girl spent her first few years living mostly with her father, however the older she got, the less she got on with her step-mother Rohesia Rottborne . The fights escaled so much that in her teenage years Leporella left her father’s home and cut all contact with them. She did not even try to contact her mother’s family because she thought it would be no point in trying to relate to people she had never seen. She lived a few years on the street instead, and by the age of 19 she was already involved with certain criminals. When Nuno finally located his daughter, he apologised for the way his wife treated her and helped her buy a house for herself next to her half-brother’s as an apology. Leporella accepted the offer, but her relationship with her father never improved. She still lives there and likes to pretend her brother’s family does not exist. Her only joy in life is her relationship with Sigmund Scheizer, a member of the The Dragons of Tolona. She met him when she decided to join the organisation.
