Desert of Aryla

The Desert of Aryla lays east of the Iron Mountains, stretching to the Shattered Coast. Despite its proximity to the ocean, it is dry and hot, and very sparsely populated. It is inhabited by wandering nomads, particularly the Orc Tribes. To the north it transitions into rolling grassland above the Donn Pass, and to the south it becomes a lush forest that is home to the Queendom of Moriga. The desert used to be a lush and bountiful place, but according to legend, it was cursed by the god Aohr during the God Wars because of the orcs' supreme reverence for the god Irdal. The vast expanses of sand and rock seem to stretch on forever underneath a blistering sun, and few cross the desert willingly.
