Frightened
To be fearful or apprehensive of something dangerous is a normal human experience, but a creature that is truly frightened has lost all their wits in the presence of a creature or an effect that they consider threatening. A frightened creature has disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls while the source of its fear is within line of sight. The creature can't willingly move closer to the source of its fear.
The amount of perceived threat needed to cause a creature to become frightened is usually the result of either a natural overwhelming presence (such as that of Dragons), or of magical interference with a creature's mind (typically of an Illusory type).
