Gloomspire

The Gloomspire was a stalactite that had been carved into a magnificent fortress, hanging from the ceiling of the cavern containing the city of the same name.

Structure

The Gloomspire had five levels. The fifth level, closest to the ceiling, was a fortified structure with no entrances. The exterior was covered in black vines from which slaves harvested grapes, and spiders could be seen crawling around as well.
The fourth level had several guard stations around the perimeter which looked down upon the entire city.
The third level had the main entrance to the fortress, which was accessed via a drawbridge that spanned the open air to the stone steps carved into the wall of the cavern.
The second level had a landing strip for Giant Bats, as well as a bay and a lift for unloading cargo.
The first level, the tip of the spire, appeared to be some kind of observatory and consisted of what looked to be a glass sphere supported by an angular crown. The glass could been seen into, and contained a library.

Recent Events

The Gloomspire was dropped onto the city below by the goddess Lolth while the Ring & Wren were there.
