The Old Gods
The Old Gods were the original creators and deities of this world. They were each wildly different, but through those differences were able to appeal to the interests of every creature in some way. There were eight total deities:
Xerark
Xerark is commonly known as the Great Old One. He is the Patron of Darkness, the Lord of the Abyss, King of Madness and Master of Horrors. He's not a great dude.Alakos
Alak'tu is the God of War, Destruction, Hatred, Fire, and Hell.Andra
Andra is the Goddess of Peace, Togetherness, Love, Freshwater, and Heaven.Norda
Norda is the Goddess of Honor, Battle, Courage, and Respect.Fen
Fen is the Goddess of Creation, the Earth, the Sky, the Stars, Art, and Humanity.Tymin
Tymin is the God of the Wind, Music, Emotion, and Travel.Morden
Morden is the God of Death, Time, and the Inevitable.Taren
Taren is the God of Beauty, Flowers, Sex, and Pollenation.Denekos
Bren is the God of Storms, Thunder, the Ocean, and the process by which nature reclaims that which Men have stolen.Relations
The Old Gods ruled for a long time, and have deep bonds with one another - both negative and positive. For instance, Alak'tu and Andra. These two, perfect opposites, diametrically opposed, were once the same. Not in a figurative sense: they were literally the same person. Their insecurities, conflicting emotions, and deep-rooted uncertainties ripped them apart, creating the two that exist today. Fen and Tymin are close friends, often advising eachother. They both find great joy in the intricacies of Humanity. Xerark was once respected by the other Gods, though they did not necessarily understand his fascination with the Abyss. Even Alak'tu, whose goal is to see Humanity destroy its own creations, finds no thrill in the Abyss. It should be ignored. It is dangerous, even to Gods. However, Jzher'ezark was not interested in the drama and symbolism of human conflict. He craved only knowledge. To find knowledge, he looked to the Abyss, and it drove him insane.
