Fairy Fruit

Fairy Fruit = Mango & peach like in taste and looks like a pale green peach with luminescent blue hints as it ripens. One of many harvested vegetation cultivated by fairy’s and elves. This peach like fruit is influenced by the three lunar bodies. As the fruit ripens it gains a faint luminescent glow similar to moon light. It grows on a small delicate tree with tiny dark green leaves. It takes the tree nearly three hundred years before it matures to bears fruit (think bonsai fruit tree) yet lives about a thousand years. The fruit begins as a large cluster of highly fragrant flowers ranging in color from pale green to a rich pink. A tree will produce only a single fruit for each flower pod. It takes nearly a full year to grow and those who tend the small orchards can keep the fruit rotated to be able to harvest regularly. Humans and other races have had almost no luck cultivating this tree. This tree has never been successfully cultivated by any other than the fey. Even druids have a difficult time with this tree unless they happen to be fey in nature. This is the fruit used to make elven wine.
