Tower Rock is so named because of a large formation at the hills peak and has actually been worked to be used as a tower. This tower is connected to the king’s castle. The wizard’s school operates out of the tower and the Wizard high master of the school acts as the king’s advisor on all things magical.   The military is about 50,000 strong and protects the villages and the towns as well as polices the area of criminals, monsters and bandits. The Tower Rock military is one of the best equipped in any of the nations of Ferrum. Much of the military is trained here and then stationed in various places after training is done. IV Division & I Division is stationed here. Several large iron mines work the hill and mountains nearby. Smelters convert the mined iron to steel day and night, and the only city state to do so. Blacksmiths dominate the businesses. The large iron mines, smelter and large concentration of smithies keep the militia well equipped.   Regent Marlow Irons resides over the cities daily activities. A large man some say may have blood from the Northmen in him. An even tempered individual but when he speaks he does so with authority. Well liked but little known to the general populace as the King is much higher profile and this is to the liking of the regent. This city has a few wonders to behold. One is the great wheel. A five hundred foot wide ring made up of heavy timbers and sheets of Iron that makes a full rotation throughout the industrious part of the city. It acts as a heavy load transportation system taking three hours to make a full rotation. The Ring is powered by a water system that is diverted at night to clean and flush the sewers. No natural river has the amount of water to do either of the jobs so summoned water elementals flood the waterworks to spin the ring and flush the sewers, several natural springs are located within the city walls though. The City walls reach all the way to the mountains to encompass the Tower Rock but also the entrances to the Iron mines. The Iron Mines entrance is a city section unto itself acting as a guardian to its gates of the mines from things from within and to keep outside raiders out, almost the entire city can fit within its catacombs. Outside the city walls to the east are an area of wetlands filled with earth roads and gravel from the mines while plants cover large expanses of the rock filled wetlands. This is truly a detail of the harmony of the Druids and engineers to clean and disperse the waters summoned by the water elementals. The extra water supplies the farm lands in the immediate area and supplies a small lake attracting water fowl throughout the year. Truly the Druids of the past have worked in harmony with the engineers of the present to maintain balance.   Most other cultures or societies refer to the Statesmen as the Ironmongers due to the almost obsessive mining and working of iron and steel. Mostly the Paladins and Epirians do this. While this may seem accurate at a glance the Statesmen are more obsessed with a balance with nature than they are with mining iron. So not only do they mine ore and harvest trees they also plant new trees and use the mines to do many things like grow mushrooms. A crude blast furnace operates in Tower Rock city. While other cities and kingdoms mine iron ore and craft iron and steel Tower Rock produces well over 80% for the continent of Ferrum. It has made its fortune and well stocked war chest this way.
