Weaselfox

Weaselfox – This creature is native to Frostland to the North. Some say the Northmen brought them as hunting pets. This is a most cunning animal with physical traits of both the fox and the weasel. A longer smaller slender body like a weasel with ears and tail like a fox. It is much larger than a regular weasel but smaller than a fox, about the size of a large jackrabbit or house cat. Its large ears allow it to hear and hunt pray under thick snow or shallow burrows. The slender body gives it the ability to follow burrowing animals while is fox like claws give it an excellent running and digging ability. The large tail helps guide it when is uses its pounce like ability similar to a fox. It does well in the snow and its fur can turn white in the winter or may always be white in the cold north. Some say a Weaslepig and a weaselfox can keep one in stock for food by hunting and gathering an entire winter. At least one animal handler has tried to breed the two but has yet been unsuccessful.
