Tellefax Naught
Tellefax Naught (a.k.a. "The Bastard Son of Prophecy")
As a young half-midori elf, Tellefax was always traveling to where any place would take him. An ameture scholar at heart, he was content simply finding a place to read not subject to the elements or starvation. That changed when he was recruited by a member of the Burning Tree Society, a group of Midori Elves who recruited fellow elves for a "higher purpose" and to "seek the truth." It intrigued him enough to join their community and envelop himself in their culture, which eventually showed their true colors as a devil-worshiping cult that wished to exterminate the dwarvish people for the sacking of the Eletfa.
Even though they weren't 100% historically accurate, he didn't see a reason to be concerned as they kept him fed and well read. One day during a blood-shearing ritual, Tellefax was made significant as his impure half-human blood interacted with their altar in a strange way. He was then known as the "Bastard Son of Prophecy" and worshiped as their savior, at least for a short while.
Using an evil obelisk, Tellefax was "converted into his true form" by brokering a deal with a devil of heresy in order to peek past the veil into both the future and past for guidance to fulfill their quest. Against his will, he was transmuted to a tiefling. Guided by his hands, the devil lead him past the veil, and upon making contact his skin became flayed and burnt. Recoiling from the intense pain, he let go of the infernal's grip and ended the ceremony to the confusion of his fellow cultists. That night, he fled from the commune in the night, knowing their temperament would only be soured by his unwillingness to perform the "prophecy."
It has been ten years since this incident, and Tellefax has laid low by traveling and taking work from the Mulapalem Enigmatic Thaumaturgy Academy (META). Since his escape, he has developed divine powers that he has yet to fully understand. He continues research into what exactly happened on that night and discover a way either to remove this curse from him or, perhaps, a way to fully initiate his gifts and grant himself powers. Either way, he's not going to make a huge fuss over it, as usual.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Rather slim and short, almost malnourished. Sometimes he actually is. Eating isn't terribly interesting to him, and neither is exercise.
Body Features
Up to the elbow, he suffers terrible 4th degree burns from the ceremony of his youth. Though they do not hurt as badly as they used to (likely to his nerve-endings being torched like candles), he is unable to lift up anything heavier than his shield.
Facial Features
The horns on his head point straight up rather than crown his head as a typical tiefling's would, making it rather inconvenient to enter some doors and impossible to wear hats.
Identifying Characteristics
Yellow-skinned cambions are uncommon even among their kin, and usually gets him spotted quite easily in a crowd.
Physical quirks
He has a terrible habit of cracking his knuckles, which make a horrid sound and smell of a doused bonfire. He also has to bend over slightly when walking through doorways, which is a change from when he was a midori elf and had to turn to the side to allow his antlers passage. Occasionally he will do the latter out of habit and bump his head.
Special abilities
His innate magical connection to demons grants him the power to create and destroy. Not particularly in that order...
Apparel & Accessories
Though never particularly fashionable, he enjoys the color purple and even dons a wizard's robe in an attempt to feel smart.
A hapless Oracle who saw past the veil and is punished by both the constantly cindering wounds on his arms and his former cult, The Burning Tree, hunting him relentlessly. All Tell has ever truly ever wanted was money for nothing and his chicks for free.
