Political event
The Naga maintained the Raashken Empire, which spanned across a majority of the known world. The Naga were an elite and powerfully arcane tribe of the Rorchos people. The Rorchos are now an extinct people, but the Naga were those of them that engaged in powerful rituals to one of the Elder Gods they called Ouroboros. They built their capital around the Életfa Tree (also called the World Tree or The Endless Tree). The tree, which was splitting as the Empire grew, was believed to be a bridge between Heaven and Hell. The Naga believed their god encircled the tree and protected it from splitting. Others who hated the Naga believed their god to be consuming the tree, metaphorically of course. as the Életfa Tree split, it produced a sapling within its core. The Naga gave the sapling to the elves. The elves of this time were broken into two categories, the Tsurīkīpā and Hoshi Elves. The King of the Tsurīkīpā was a powerful druidic wizard named Fëoraith. The Tsurīkīpā were a protected group of pacifist elves under the control of the Raashken Empire.
As they saw the world tree split, King Fëoraith began to meet with other parties and develop a plan of success. One of the greatest enemies against the empire were the dwarves. Part of the claims against the Raashken Empire was in their poor rule and subjection of those who did not hold the snake like qualities that were considered desirable. King Fëoraith, with the support and influence of the leaders of the dwarven rebellion, killed the Naga Emperor and elites. This act was unspeakable among the pacifist ways of the Tsurīkīpā. What was even more shocking was when Feoraith offered a sapling of the Életfa Tree to the dwarves as an offer of peace. As the Raashken Empire fell, the dwarves retreated with the sapling, hoping to use it to build their own central city that would be worshiped by all. Because it was not a complete victor, the Tsurīkīpā elves were still captured and banished blow the early in the tunnels of the now withering great tree. This banishment was enforced by the remaining Naga and the Hoshi Elves. What they were not aware, was that King Fëoraith held a second sapling which was gifted to his wife Ririsu. Eventually, the Tsurīkīpā elves in the "Netherworld" became known as Yoru Elves. This name meant "Night," so they are also referred to as "Night Elves." Though they planted a new sapling and still follow this pacifist way, the Yuro elves forever feel this stain upon their history and see it with great shame as they feel it directly lead to The Burning Time
Dwarves, however, did not suffer that same shame from their part in the war. They believe that their part in overthrowing the Naga helped save the existing saplings and bring freedom to the rest of the world. The dwarves saw themselves as saviors of this great being that was slowly dying, and stopped fighting when they received a sapling in hopes to care for it on their own. The gift of the sapling was the first step towards peace. Dwarves take pride in their freedom as part of their creation myth, and their rebellion against the Raashken Empire.
