Hreth, the Sadistic Darkness
Once a savior unto creation, Hreth has since become a twisted and deranged antithetical demon. As the one who spawned the first forces of creation, Hreth is considered by some to be the simultaneous *savior* and *devil* of the Ring, and is possibly the most personified of the Empyreans, being depicted as vengeful and cruel. Hreth is responsible, as well, for the creation of the Shadowfell and its nature.
Hreth in the Book of Veltan
The last to come into existence, Hreth was yet the most involved in the formation of the Ether. While Ix spawned the Ether from a spark, Hreth molded the Ether into what it is. When the others sought to keep the Ether from its potential, Hreth 'taught' it to create within itself. Navven soon did the same, guiding it even further while the others tried to halt it. Though when Navven bound Hreth to Inferno in order to keep the Abyssal Empyreans at bay, Hreth grew resentful, filling with ire. He would eventually tear at the Prime Material plane from his hell, creating the Shadowfell.
Appearance
Hreth is usually represented as a shrill, cutting image of a demon molded in a cloak of night.
