Cherif Tree

A temperate-latitude and fast-growing tree, the cherif tree has broad, fleshy leaves that have a dark green coloration. Unlike most trees of that latitude, they retain their green coloration through part of the autumn, only shifting colors to yellow, gold, silver then eventually tan-brown at the onset of winter.   Cherif trees produce a sweet fruit generically referred to by the same name, 'Cherif'. This is a palm to fist-sized fruit about seven centimeters or almost three inqes in size. The pale yellow fuzz on the outside of the yellow-gold skin belies the naturally sweet white flesh with reddish see flecks on the inside.   The wood of the tree is often used for smoking meat or other cooking in the Balelands region due to how plentiful the tree is in that area.
