Ancestor trees
These are trees that the Näkki cultivate.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
The ancestor trees reproduce only rarely, and are totally depended on the Näkki They help the plant to spread their pollen, carefully selecting which individuals they breed together. After pollination the female plant will start to develop a fruit. The growth of the fruit is thought to take several weeks, but unfortunately the Näkki vigorously guard the trees, and no scholar has been allowed to observe the process.
After the fruit is ready, the Näkki plant it on a suitable place, and hope for another tree to grow.
Ecology and Habitats
The ancestor trees grow on a marshland of freshwater tidal zones.
