Bat People of Desert
What are bat people?
As we know, the Bat people are one of the main species of our today's world. They are in many ways similar to bat people, but instead of being a naked mole rat-based species they are a bat-based species. Unlike mole people, the creation of bat people was a far more limited experiment that only took place in a few caves in certain parts of the world. This is why today, you mainly only find them in distant parts of T@Ö#Ä3 Wasteland, and even still people aren't completely sure that they exist at all.
How did they get to desert?
While bat people of Wasteland are a fairly small group, there is an even smaller group of them living in Desert. How did they get here then, you may ask. Well this story goes way back, into the times of the apocalyptic years.
All these bat people actually come form the same group, or let's say, the same gorup of undeground settlements. But livign down there in the caves was no picnic. As you may know, the world we live in today was basically built up form the chunks of the old world, which means it wasn't always a very stable world, especially during ist early days. It was just around that time that the world and all of it's underground caves and caverns were a subject to constant changes and risky events, such as eatrhquakes and caves being caved in and destroyed. It was during one of these events that a major cave-in happened right in the middle of these bat settlements. It basically split them in two, creating two groups of bat people. One that would later move out of the cave in the East T@Ö#Å3, and the one that would move out into the Desert. The Desert group was much smaller and proceeded to evolve quite differently from their T@Ö#Ä3 buddies.
What's the difference?
So, with both groups living so far apart for so long, does it even matter that they are both bat people? Well, this is a tricky one. As we know, the bat people of T@Ö#Ä3 have developed a very specific lifestyle that mainly revolves around trying to simultaneously convince other people that they don't exist at all, and if that if they do, they are very serioulsy real vampires.
Desert bats meanwhile, took a lot of that with them. They may have gotten separated form their main group, but they were always even more separated from the mole people. So, even later when it was time to come out of the underground, they tended to just keep to themselves, keeping the similar mysterious status as their T@Ö#Ä3 buddies. They remained living in the underground towns in desert and don't often associate with the moles people, other than when they need to buy supplies for them
Over time, they have actually tried to return to T@Ö#Ä3 and have burrowed tunnels leading all the way back to the other side of the world, ut at this point many of them have decided that Wasteland seems like absolutely miserable place to live in, and decided to stay in Desert. Which is actually quite useful, because now, they can trade all the goods form Ä+*4~ down to T@Ö#Ä3, and of course the other way around as well.
What does everyone else think about them?
Considering their situation, the bat people of Desert became sort of outcasets no matter where they go. Apart from some exceptions, they have no interest in getting invloved too much with moles people or joining their society, but they don't quite fit in with the original Wasteland bat people either. They're too small of a group to really survive on their own like the Wasteland bats can at least, and so they're just kinda there, living their lives the best they can, mainly trading goods back and forth.
