Dirt Snake

Ella’s growing up

Ella was born in Wasteland of T@Ö#Ä3, to parents who were quite eccentric. They in particular were always into avant garde art, so Ella was surrounded by the same things growing up. It was no surprise that she soon grew to like the same things as her parents. After first few years of Ella’s life, her family moved to the East T@Ö#Å3, where all the weird and creepy was a part of everyday life. There, Ella started taking more interest in various forms or avant garde and performance art, one of which was danger music. When she was still in high school, she worked with eggs and butter for a time, among other things. Soon, she performed at a local Town Square Show, on the evening open to different young aspiring performers. Her act was titled “Is mayonnaise an instrument?”, and consisted of her eating an entire jar of mayo with a spoon in front of an audience. The audience was impressed, but someone was more impressed than anyone else. This was young Sam, a fairy who would soon become Ella’s best friend and also a member of their new band.

Sam’s life

Sam was a young fairy, living in East T@Ö#Å3. Though fairies are known to be servants of Glitter God himself, they aren’t always treated nicely in this part of the world. People believe that Glitter God has forsaken them, and are driving fairies out of here because of it. This leads to only a few fairies living here, making people believe that Glitter God has forsaken them even more. Because of all this, Sam way always an outcast here, not being able to find many fairies to relate to. Instead, he was only welcomed by the freaks and other outcasts in the area. He spent a lot of time among people considered weirdos by already the weird part of the world that might already be considered pretty weird even when it comes to it’s normal parts. Here, only the weirdest of the weird could be found, and one of these things was danger music.

Sam became quite interested in it, and was happy to attend a town square show that would include a danger music performance by a new young artist. As he watched Ella eat the jar of mayo with a spoon, he thought this must be one of the weirdest things he even witnessed. After the show he knew he had to meet her, and thus, the history of their band began.

Satrting the band

Now that Sam and Ella became friends, they spent a lot of time researching weird and insane forms of art and performances, and tried to come up with more of their own. During that time, they created their debut album titled “Art of taking the piss”. They released their album as a band called Dirt Snake - after the dirt snakes of Wasteland that young Ella used to love to watch and play with. Unsurprisingly, their most popular piece from this album was titled “Let me pee on the walls”. It seemed to have resonated with many people of East T@Ö#Å3. Living in the pace believed to be forgotten by God himself and ruled only by Satan, people had more than enough things to feel angry about. Crime, drugs, shitty weather, creepy architecture - it all made people feel as though the walls of their lives and souls are being peed on every day. They loved the message of the song and what Dirt Snake stood for: showing a mirror to the broken society and calling out the toxic behaviors that have become so ingrained in the lives of residents of East T@Ö#Å3.

Similar to “Let me pee on the walls”, the other pieces on that album followed the same themes of anger and rebellion through various more or less risky acts, that resonated with their audience not only in T@Ö#Ä3, but Å+*4~ as well. As their works were spread among the people their fame only grew. Interviews, performances, obsessive fans - it all started putting more and more stress on Sam and Ella. Soon, it became too much for the pair who were used to living away from the people in solitude to handle. It was around that time that they decided to take a break and go on hiatus.

The hiatus

Sam and Ella both agree it’s the best for them to move away from the spotlight and leave the big city. They both agreed that Wasteland is the only place perfect to run away to, to take a break from everything. They packed their most necessary belongings, sold the rest, and left. Their disappearance was sudden, leaving many of their fans questioning what happened to them.

They intended their hiatus to only be a short break, but after settling in Wasteland, it wasn’t easy to leave. While life in Wasteland isn’t for everyone, Sam and Ella quite enjoyed their time away from the fast city life. Here, Sam focused on producing his own honey for the residents of Wasteland, and Ella tried her hand at ear wax art. And so they lived, peacefully, as the weeks turned into months, and months turned into years. By now, their band remained in people’s memories only as a one hit wonder from ages ago. Some still owned their full album, while for most hearing their name was just a nostalgic memory of the past. It wasn’t until exactly seven years later, that Sam and Ella returned back to the city.

The comeback

While life in Wasteland was nice and peaceful, eventually both Sam and Ella started missing the city. Both creative as they were, came up with many new ideas during their time away, and now, they were anxious to share them again with a wider audience. They moved into a house a bit out of East T@Ö#Å3, and started going to local town square shows.

Their first piece was titled “Paint the walls with my brain”, which featured Ella, well, doing something not usually appropriate to do on live TV. Nevertheless, she invested all of her savings into buying herself extra lives at a local insurance company, just to be able to perform the act without the pesky inconvenience of going through Hell each time. A risky and controversial act reestablished Dirt Snake as one of the most talked about bands. Many were outraged and believed that Ella had gone too far with this act, while others applauded her bravery to do what many residents of East T@Ö#Å3 would rather do than have to continue living in the hellhole that is East T@Ö#Å3. The act garnered a lot of attention, and sparked many debates on what it represented. But no matter if people thought it was just edgy attention seeking or a deeper message about the flawed society, they all talked about it. The word about Dirt Snake’s return spread and soon reached even atlds. Though they had less fans there, they got invited to interviews and performances there, just as well as in T@Ö#Ä3.

Since that time they started travelling a lot and trying out new ways to shock the public. As their stunts are becoming more daring and creative, many of their old fans worry they’re becoming too mainstream, more interested in profits and popularity than the true unhinged rebellion that started it all. But, only time can tell what the future will bring for Dirt Snake.
