Drag Queen

Queens in history

For the longest time in history, the lands of ancient worlds were ruled by kings and queens. These were the absolute rulers of their kingdom, in charge of running everything that went on. Over time, kingdoms gave way to other forms of government, and the role of kings has changed somewhat. It was in times leading up to the apocalypse where the specific title of a “drag queen” was often given to men who dressed up as women. Not just everyone would get this title of course, they had to prove themselves in one way or the other to get it. Many of the ancient documents on these matters were lost to time, so we’re not sure what exactly they had to do to earn the title, or how it related to the role of ruling the land that the queens used to have before that. In any case, it’s clear that dressing up as a woman was a crucial part of earning this royal title.

Royal titles today

Today the times have changed greatly from the past, and so did the traditions of drag queens. While today there are no more royal families, the royal title of the drag queen is closely tied to rich families, and even more so to fairies. Only a young man coming from a wealthy family, who has taken on a role of a genderless woman, and is married to a fairy may earn this prestigious title.

Rich moms and raising young drag queens

While potentially anyone who marries a fairy could become a drag queen, most people aren’t too concerned with this. The ones who truly care are the rich mothers. While money is undoubtedly of utmost importance, being related to a royal family is that much better. Because of this, many rich mothers make sure to raise their sons from a young age to become a true queen one day. It all starts very early, way sooner than the young boys could have their own say in it, which is also why many tend to criticize this practice, and many boys grow up to be unhappy and resentful towards their mothers. There are plenty who gladly play along though, and keep this practice alive. It is usually right at the birth that the mothers decide to raise their sons as girls. With a serious lack of women, this type of thing is encouraged in all kinds of families, though normal families let their sons make this choice for themselves. It’s a tough decision to make for your own child, but rich mothers don’t have time to think about their sons’ feelings.

Childhood

They start by dressing their sons up as girls, but this is not nearly the most important part of the process. If a young boy is to become a proper queen some day, he has to really be worthy of such a title. These boys are taught all sorts of skills, from proper manners and how to behave around a divine race such as fairies, to various artistic skills and studying Glitter Bible. They are expected to be intelligent, elegant and feminine to be worthy of a fairy husband in the future and are particularly encourage to pursue careers in art and entertainment.

It’s not only doing and learning these things, they have to be the very best at it too, that’s why contests and beauty pageants are organized. In a competitive environment, the young boys are pushed harder to get better and look prettier than anyone else. They attend these pageants from as early as 3years old, and all the way to the end of primary school. Only the best don’t crack under pressure and quit the whole thing before this point. By now, each young boy, or a princess as they would be called, is expected to have a decent knowledge on Glitter Bible and has mastered at least one artistic skill, be it painting, playing a musical instrument, or something more related to entertainment, such as acting or singing. Many will at least try more of these and try to get good at as many as they can.

Secondary school and looking for a groom

When they enter secondary school, young moles are old enough to take on more responsibilities. In the case of young princesses this also includes finding an appropriate groom. Now, all the beauty pageants and competitions they would attend before are replaced with fairy meetups. These are parties held in either temples or other notable venues of rich areas. Here young princesses would meet with young fairies in hopes of meeting their future husband. Unfortunately, not all of them meet a fairy to marry, and so never become real drag queens. On the other hand, it may also happen that a fairy ends up marrying just a woman from a regular family, not even a rich well educated young princess.

Sadly, once young princesses leave secondary school they lose their royal title if they don’t find their own fairy. They may still regain the title if they do find and marry a fairy later in life, but being married to a fairy is essential in becoming a queen.

What do they even do?

No matter if they were raised in a rich family, or ended up marrying a fairy by chance, with the marriage, they become a proper queen. This usually doesn’t gain them much more than bragging rights, but if they marry a head fairy of a temple or district, they get more responsibilities as the first lady of a temple or district.

As a first lady, they get to help with making decisions that relate to the temple or district their husband is in charge of. This wouldn’t be too much of a problem, but whereas the head fairies are well educated and trained in the job they have to do, drag queens may not be. They are people who have since childhood been treated like princesses and spoiled rotten. Though they are expected to be smart and well educated in Glitter Bible studies and the principles by which the world is run, they are also more often than not self-absorbed and have over inflated egos. As much as their input is valuable and appreciated, their fairy husbands have an important job of keeping them in their place and not meddle in the important matters too much.

Other than standing by their fairy husbands you will most often find them in careers that relate to art and entertainment. Surely having parents in high positions in the same careers has helped a lot, but they are commonly regarded as some of the most talented in their respective fields. They worked hard to master their skills and just like everyone, take a lot of pride in what they do and what they have achieved. Being in the spotlight and adored by their fans is where they and their massive egos thrive, but they actually do make good role models to young moles of any gender. They and their experiences teach us that no matter how rich your parents are, you still have to do your very best to master many different skills to become someone who really matters in the world.
