Loss of Inner Fairy / Inner Fairy Incapacitation

Every moles has two inner fairies living in their head, that control every aspect of their life and body. The two fairies have their tasks divided between them, each controlling about 50% of the mole’s body. The two fairies should have each their part under control and effectively communicate with each other to keep things running smoothly. That is of course, as long as there is both of them - in rare cases a person can lose one of the inner fairies, through a number of mishaps, temporarily or for good. The less severe version of this condition is called Inner Fairy Incapacitation (IFI), but more severe cases can result in Loss of Inner Fairy (LIF)

Causes

IFI and LIF can be caused by a number of reasons, such as:

  • head injury - one of your inner fairies could get knocked right out of your head, or even get killed this way
  • toxic substances - different toxic substances can make the system in your brain go haywire, which can leave one of your fairies incapacitated temportarily or for long term
  • burnout - if you overwork yourself, it means you’re overworking your inner fairies. If you don’t give yourself - and your inner faires - the needed rest, one of them may get incapacitated or leave entirely
  • unhealthy lifestyle - this refers to a wide range of things, from not getting enough sleep, poor diet, not taking good care of your mind and body in general. This may cause inner fairy burn out, one of the two fairies getting fed up and leaving, a poor diet can also mean there isn’t proper amount of sustenance in your body to sustain two fairies, which again will cause one of them to leave

Symptoms

With only one fairy having to run everything now, he can easily get overwhelmed with the workload. This results in many of one’s bodily and cognitive functions malfunctioning. With most bodily functions such as heartbeat, breathing, digestion, body temperature, metabolism, production of bodily fluids and such being automatically monitored, these remain fairly unaffected. It’s usually unexpected events that require a quiche reaction, where the person and their body may be slow to respond. This may result in slower reflexes, or higher chance of getting sick due to delayed immune response.

Where suffers with this condition seem to be affected the most however, is malfunctioning sensory perception. They can easily get overwhelmed by being exposed to things such as loud noises, bright lights, busy crowds and they concentrate harder on any task they need to perform. They can seem a bit absent-minded and sometimes more gullible because it takes their single inner fairy more time to process all the information he receives.

Because their inner fairy isn’t able to process the environment quickly and effectively, they often tend to see, hear or feel things that aren’t there, or they misinterpret them in the extra time their inner fairy needs to process what’s going on.

Now, with the second fairy missing, the remaining fairy still has the need to consult and socialize with someone, that’s why you may often see the sufferers from this condition directly talking to the remaining inner fairy, which to the outside observer may seem like the person is talking to themselves or an imaginary entity.

Cures

In the case of only IFI, curing the condition is relatively easy, but with LIF, things can get a bit tricky.

In case of IFI, the sufferer is advised to take a break and rest, until their inner fairy is ready to take over again. This can take a few days, or a few weeks, but never longer than a month. During this time you should work with medical and mental health professionals to get back on track as soon as possible.

In the case of LIF, it’s ideal to replace the missing inner fairy. This is nearly impossible to achieve, though there are medications that can fabricate a replacement inner fairy for you. These still haven’t been perfected, and may cause some unpleasant side effects. A lot of the time the replacement inner fairy is not even a fairy and could be a different gender from the person. It also takes a while for the original inner fairy and the person to get used to this newly created inner fairy and learn to work with them. Because of this many are hesitant to take medications in fear that the new inner fairy will change them and their personality too much. There have been reports of minor changes in one’s preferences or behavior, but it’s hard to say if that’s a side effect of medication, or just a result of the person’s inner fairies finally working properly again. In any case, you should work with a mental health, as well as medical professional through all this, to help you track your mental wellbeing and any potential changes in your personality or behavior.

Prevention

This, as any other mental or health condition can first and foremost be prevented by living a healthy lifestyle, taking care of your mental and physical well being. This condition is a rare one, especially the complete loss of inner fairy, but taking good care of yourself is always a good idea. However, some people are more prone to experiencing IFI or LIF and it seems to have a lot to do with genetics. In most cases, the person suffering from this condition already has a family member who also did or does suffer from it. Be extra cautious if you know someone in your family who suffers from IFI or LIF.
