Who are they?

Mediums are people who are able and willing to communicate with the spirits of the dead. They are a lot more common in East T@Ö#Ä3, in areas near Haunted Forest, because that’s where the most spirits are, but can be found anywhere in the world really.

They most often talk to the dead when those still have some unfinished business with the living people. Usually this is because they haunt the house someone is living in, or if someone died suddenly and might still be unable to move on from this life.

Communication with spirits

Especially near Haunted Forest, spirits are always present, but talking to them might be a little tricky. It’s not always just like talking to a friend - the spirit has to be willing to communicate with you. It’s hard to tell when the spirits will decide to communicate, or with whom, but they usually prefer a calm and focused approach. Remember, these spirits (usually) aren’t malicious, but are just lost and confused about their current state. They once were people just like you and me, they just need to learn new ways to communicate with the living, just as much as the living need to learn to communicate with them.

Mediums in general only get into the business of talking to the dead with the best of intentions, but you have to be careful about the ones who have less than pure intentions. There are mediums who will take advantage of their skill and the dead to get attention and profit for themselves. These are usually the ones who portray the dead as this unhinged unstoppable force that is out to get you, or they might show off their skills as a cheap party trick. If you really think about it, the people who want to just use these poor, confused and tortured souls as a source of cheap entertainment might have it coming when the spirits do turn against them.

So if you are interested in learning to communicate with the dead, you should keep in mind that these are, or at least were, just regular people who deserve respect and understanding just like everyone else.

Liliane’s work

Though there are many mediums across the world, talking to these spirits daily, there’s still so much about them that we don’t truly understand. Researchers and mediums are still learning a lot every day, and there are a few who really pushed our understanding of the spirits forward.

One of these was Liliane. She lived her whole life near Haunted Forest and was interested in the spirits from a very young age. To this day, she is one of very few people who managed to form a true friendship with one of them. She was one of the first to start talking about spirits more from the perspective of them being just regular people who only need respect and understanding. She didn’t see herself as a regular medium, but as more of a therapist to the dead. Living all of her life closely involved with the spirits, she wrote numerous books about her experiences with them, and shed a whole new light on the topic.

But as good as the things seemed to be, she ultimately fell victim to the very spirits she trusted so much. As the tale goes, she one day followed her own best spirit friend into Haunted Forest, never to return again.

Maybe it’s because of that, that a lot of her work is still viewed as reckless if not controversial. As much as she helped the world understand those spirits better, many still use her story as an example of exactly why you should never fully trust the spirits.

Regardless, many mediums now take inspiration from Liliane, approaching the spirits in a more benevolent and understanding way. Sure, the spirits may still be dangerous and unpredictable, but the mediums are the ones who are here to establish a productive communication between the world of the dead and the world of the living.

Notable Mediums

Liliane

Liliane was one of the more important mediums that's still well known today. She is responsible for familiarizing the world with the nature of spirits. Her work was always based on respect and curiosity about the spirits. She wrote many books in her lifetime and people interested in the topic are still well advise to read them.

Edriel

On the opposite side of the spectrum, we have Edriel. Today, he lives in Ä+*4~ that has less spirits to communicate with than Haunted forest, but there sitll are some. Edriel is more known to show off his skills as a form of entertainment, and may doubt if he is even really capable of talking to spirits. I mean come on, imagine you're a spirit wanting to talk to your loved ones for one last time and "this guy" is your only chance P_P They can't be blamed for trying to avoid him.
