Oakwood
Around the border between Ä+*4~, Towns of Fairy gardens and Fields of Fairy gardens lies what is considered to be the largest wooded area in the world. It’s no surprise it’s also home to the largest logging settlement in the world. This village named Oakwood is said to produce the most wood in the world, oak wood in particular, as its name would suggest.
Nature
Besides oak trees, this village has rich plant and animal life that thrives under the warm yellow sun. Many different critters found their home in this forest and it’s not unusual to see some of them wander out into the village. Animals here have grown used to the presence of people and are very nice, but still tend to be cautious. Watch out for spiky bois tho, they’ve got places to be and they gotta go fast! If you find yourself in their way, you may end up with a few of their spikes painfully lodged under your skin.
Wood production
Similar to the Fields of Fairy Gardens, you’ll find large families living on large properties here. And they all are focused on one thing: wood production. It’s pretty simple really; they chop wood and process it into wooden planks and such similar wooden half products that they can sell forward. Good amount of this gets sold to local furniture manufacturers and other artisans who make different paracical or decorative products out of wood. These usually live with smaller families on smaller properties where they run their workshops.
People here tend to take a lot of pride in their work and strive to make the best quality furniture and wooden products they possibly can. Because of this, the prices here tend to be quite high and you may have to wait quite some time to get your piece of furniture you ordered here. Some particularly well known crafters have waiting lists filled up for years, but for many, this wait is well worth it for a good piece for furniture that will last long.
Tourism opportunities
But people aren’t only drawn here to buy a new fancy armoire for their home. Despite this being mainly a logging settlement, it still has plenty to offer to tourists. Many like to come here so spend some time in nature and hike through the forest. People here are well advised to only hike along marked paths, otherwise they might easily end up in a dangerous tree chopping site.
Especially people form the cities of Ä+*4~ like to come here in hope so meet some woodland critters up close and may be able to feed and pet them.
Another popular activity for tourists here is to buy and plant their very own tree. With all the trees that get chopped down here, this is a very welcome and encouraged activity, that raises awarness about the importance of sustainability of wood production.
Though this may not exactly be everyone’s idea of fun time, a few families here offer tours through their production farms where they explain and walk tourists through the entire wood production process. This turned out to be actually unexpectedly popular among tourists, and lets people here earn some extra profit.
