Summer Camp 2024 homework

Week 1

Assignment 1

Consider what kind of changes would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.

Change? Hasn't my world, suffered enough? ): ? Well maybe that's the point, a lot of changes have already happened on Flat Earth that haven't been properly explored yet. Depending on the prompts, hopefully this will give me more chance to explore therse parts of the Flat Earth's history, otherwise, hopefully it will give me some points to think about the changes that are still to come.

Assignment 2

Based on this, decide how many prompts you'll go for during Summer Camp. Then, download the pledge document and fill it accordingly!

Ok yes I did it, I wrote diamond bage into the pledge document (above). Obviously, I do aim to write as much as I possibly can, because this is the whole point of summer camp. But also, I don't intend to be too hard on my self in case I do not reach the diamond badge. I did a gold one last year which was pretty good too. I know I'm doing at least a bronze one because otherwise what am I even doing with my life?

Assignment 3

Get your categories and tags organized!

Ok, I'll clear out the articles form "Worldember 2023" category and put them into their proper places and then rename the category to "Summer Camp 2024". That's just about as much as I am able and willing to do about this.

Assignment 4

Take a look at your meta, primer, and any other high-level document and update it according to the current state of your world.

Well that one's easy because meta is that there is no meta. Does this world look like anything beyond making stuff up as I go to you? :D that's the whole point of it. This week's theme might be all about change, but this is the one thing that will NOT change, ever.

Week 2

Assignment 1

Consider what kinds of refuge would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.

Well there is one and only ultimate refuge; the underground bunkers. I might think of soemthing more, depending on what kind of prompts we get. Wasteland settlemets could works as a refuge of sorts, maybe I can slip in that one Fairy Gardens mansion; I know which one it it. We'll see.

Assignment 2

Find a community—whether that’s our Discord server, Facebook Group, your RPG or friend group, or something else.

Ok look now, the entirety of this Flat Earth, including the part where it's just flat and has 5 suns it still a million times more realistic than me finding anyone to care about my world (let alone a whole community P_P) - and considering that there's things such as 5 suns, this might actually be for the best. I'm gonna have to choose my 5 suns over people on this one, sorry.

Assignment 3&4

Find ways to improve styling and layout in your world!
If you’re a CSS wizard, maybe take the time now to give it a polish!

I'm just putting these two together because they're sort of the same thing about messing with the layout. I'm pretty satisfied with how things look like now, but I'll think about this one.

Week 3

Assignment 1

I have a lot of this already in my worlbuilding; from religion to conspiracy theories; it all just depends on the prompts what I can use or add

Assignment 2

Create a bank of inspirations! Quotes, music, description of experiences and shower thoughts, etc.

well I already have many ideas saved in my files elsewhere so that's not a problem o:

Assignment 3

Find art and pictures that inspire you, and grab a map if you don't have one (and need one).

maybe I should grab a map #_# I mean I have one, but also I still need one because it's a mess

Assignment 4

Check your inspirations again. Are they still relevant? Can you find any that better represent the current state of your project?

yes, my inspirations are fine. There might be a few things here and there to reconsider but nothing major

Week 4

Assignment 1

Consider what kind of decay would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.

I don't know, this world isn't really built to decay, or you could really say that again, most of this has happened in the past, it again all really depends on the prompts about this P_P

Assignment 2

If you like special tea when you write, stock up for a month. Tidy your office, make a “do not disturb” sign, and think about any other last-minute strategies to optimize your writing space and time!

tea? I mean I got a six pack of ice tea so there's that I guess O_O

Assignment 3

Review your world homepage to hook potential readers!

Potential readers aren't real and they can't hurt me, but I might reorganize some thigs a bit. I mean we all know I actually won't end up doing it, but I'll try to remember to do it and take some times for it :V

Assignment 4

Take a look at your author profile and pillar articles on your world and polish them!
