The Stomach

The desert - seemingly endless and empty,yet so full of possibilities has always intrigued people. So inviting, yet terrifying it was always a source of tales and challenges for people living in the area. Especially young people would always challenge each other to go to the desert, sometimes even at night, just to prove their bravery. Many would venture into the desert, sometimes just for a few 100m, or sometimes even to spend the night, and many would come back with reports of monster sightings. One in particular, that appears in these stories most consistently is something called “the stomach”.

The Story

The general story of the stomach would always go something like this:

Two friends, or sometimes more, would go out into the desert. Oftentimes they would be challenged by friends to show their bravery, and sometimes they would just go out of curiosity.

Once they were far enough from the towns, it would start. They could feel the ground shaking, first only slightly, but more and more as the creature approached. What creature? No one is sure exactly.

The reports say it would jump out of the ground and then back in, just like a fish jumping out of the water. The creature seemed pretty big, the length of about 4-5 average molesm snake-like and with a large mouth in the front. Id doesn’t really seem to have much of a face, just a big gaping hole lined with sharp teeth that crush and devour anything in its path - sand, rocks, plants, animals, even people if they find themselves in its way. Supposedly the creature is perfectly capable of devouring an entire boulder in one bite, so now imagine what it would do to a person.

Its immense hunger and the large mouth through which you could see the creature's stomach are what gave the creature its name - the stomach.

In most of these stories no one actually got eaten by the stomach, but a few stories report just that. However, these can’t really be verified and no one really remembers anymore where they came from. It's always someone's uncle's friend's catbunny's kindergarten teacher or something, who moved out of town years ago.

Proof?

Despite our advanced technology, no one has been able to come up with any reliable proof of the creature. All say that it all happened too fast for anyone to be able to take their phone and make a picture or a recording of the creature, and the few pictures and recordings that do exist are way too shaky or blurry to prove much of anything. Now don’t get me wrong, the creature could very well be real, all those people can’t be making all of this up, but as of right now there is no reliable proof of the creature.

The Legend Lives On

However, the legend lives on. There are plenty of eyewitness reports on this monstrous creature, and no one in their right mind would tempt their fate and go out into the desert to look for the creature themself. That being said, we all know very well that moles aren’t exactly a species known for being in their right mind, so many will still go out to see the stomach. Because of that, new stories, shaky videos and blurry photos are coming up, fueling people’s fear and imagination.
