Tulip Gardens
Tulips
When visiting Fairy Gardens, you’ll notice there’s an abundance of tulips everywhere. In parks, on people’s windows and backyards, in Glitter Temples, in all the traditional patterns, printed on a variety of items, carved in wood, and even on the restaurant menus. As Glitter God’s favorite flower, residents of Fairy Gardens proudly chose tulips as their national flower and it is also considered a sacred flower all over the world. As such, tulips are widely grown in all areas of Ä+*4˜ and Fairy Gardens, but there is one place that stands out among the others.
The Tulip Garden
Just as you travel out of the main city towards the fields, you’ll see a tulip garden at the side of the road. But this isn’t just any tulip garden, it’s the largest tulip garden in the area.
It’s a home to over 5 million tulips of all colors, as well as an array of other flowers and trees. The paths will lead you through red, yellow and pink fields of tulips arranged in different patterns around various different statues of Glitter God, fairies, scenes from Glitter Bible as well as many ornate water fountains and a playful stream that leads all the way through the garden.
You’ll enter a busy area that, aside from tulips, offers playgrounds for children, huts that sell all sorts of trinkets and souvenirs; you can get anything from keychains and magnets to your very own potted miniature tulips. Should you get hungry, you will also find food and drink stalls, offering a wide selection of hot and cold teas, and traditional snacks such as fried flowers, honey, various desserts with honey and fruits, or even the famous tulip salad. By the food stalls, there will be shaded sitting areas, but you are welcome to have your snack or drink while walking along paths, or sit on one of many benches under the trees by the paths. For children there is a fairy village full of whimsical small houses occupied with statues of fairies, going about their everyday business. Here they can learn about the lives of fairies, the flowers they take care of and about the Resplendent Glitter God.
As you walk further, you’ll notice there will be less and less playgrounds and shops, less paved areas, and more nature. There are more meadows, perfect for picnics, hanging out with your glittergoth family, or coming alone to relax and meditate. The stream that will still follow you all the way here, the birds in the trees and the soft rustling of the leaves will provide a perfect background noise to your relaxation. There are guided meditations and yoga classes organized every day in the afternoon, for those more serious about their relaxation.
The Towers and the festival
But make sure to come before the evening. In the evenings, this is a great area for concerts or outdoor movie viewings.
If you dare to wander off, a bit deeper into the forest, you might find an entrance to another garden. This garden will most likely be locked and accessible only to fairies. This entrance will only be unlocked on special holidays, and will lead you through greenery all the way to the Towers to Heaven. These, of course, are always locked, and never accessible to anyone other than fairies.
One time when you may access areas around the towers is the tulip festival. This is an annual festival that celebrates the blooming of the tulips. It takes place for a week in the 4th month, the week when tulips reach their full bloom. During this festival you’ll find a lot more visitors than usual, and of course, a lot more events. There will be a lot more food and souvenir stalls to sell goods, concerts, flower related contests and presentations and on the last day even fireworks!
