Laeken is crowned Emperor of Taalora
Laeken was not crowned for over two months after the death of his mother due to him being hospitalized. He suffered a fractured spine from his fall off the Indarig and was taken to the nearest town for treatment. The doctor there insisted he not be moved until he had more time to heal, so he spent the next month in the care of a small town doctor. While he was invalid, he was called Emperor Presumptive back in Temru, where King of Arms Kellin Halkirk had stepped in as a leader. After he was allowed to be moved, Laeken continued the journey back to Temru and was crowned the next day. He had been determined to walk to the throne, but he was no able to stand yet and had to be pushed to the front of the ceremony in a wheelchair. In the time he was recovering, Halkirk had taken great strides in getting the country organized after the attack and many were sorry to see him go in exchange for this miserable looking crippled boy.
