Berret is descended of the renowned Cavalorne family line from three previous generations. Trinian rulers are chosen off of grand heroics and it was the Miracle of Garnerborne that started it all. A brief explanation is that Cavalorne I needed a means of liberating a province from the scourge of a Turmoil-twisted tyrant. With wits and only 2,000 men against overwhelming odds, Cavalorne managed to scare off the ruler by eliminating over half of the opposition of 8,000 and only losing a quarter of his own.

He was appointed as the king due to his father’s passing.
