General Summary

Name Class
Abbott Warlock
Clovis Fighter
Henrietta Blood Hunter
Yohgrï Cleric

Morning in East Harrow

A Black Hand

Clovis headed to Henrietta to apologize for acting rashly back at the gates of Lumencroft. Both he and the party underwent a stressful situation after all. He also wanted to let Henri know that he will inform her in case he did anything stupid. During the talk, it was noted that Clovis had black around his hand. They both speculated that it is some form of marking from the Nameless Host.

For Clovis, Henrietta, and Yohgrï

Henri provided Setesk her coat and journal as items of historical value. He accepted.

The first reading, “What is Abbott’s relation with the Shade?”

Setesk had to push past the intrusive Shade to foresee things. He saw Abbott as a man who denies the natural progression of age and saw only the Shade as the answer to cure his condition. For the Shade, it got to prey on emotions while keeping him intact.

The second reading, “Who is Abigail Edouard?”

Setesk foresaw a child that was killed by the one who helped to bring her into the world. Abbott had been denying the Shade and it sought to punish him for it. Through uncertainty, Abbott killed his own daughter…

Over in Lumencroft

Thrill of the Chill

Mayor Clarence Bertram speaking for your general announcement.

The Ardent months can be quite unpleasant with the sweat dripping down your forehead. Worst of all, shade may be few and far between in the middle of the day. If only there was a way to beat the heat. That is why City Council and I are happy to announce the Thrill of the Chill event!

Come on down to Main Street where Joyden popsicles and frozen treats are provided. Why not take a splash in the pools that are around as well? There are plenty of ways to stay cool.

Let us not forget dress code for the event! Be sure to wear light blue, white, or silvery colors! What better way to show we’re staying chill than the thrill in having the heat to beat?

Clovis stepped into the village in a disguise. He found a small area to begin playing a simple Valencian tune from home. The Constables stepped in, insisting that he ceased playing, not for any poor musical talent but because he wasn’t registered with Reginald Reeves. After finishing the song, he simply stepped aside.

Yoghrï on the other hand, went into Main Street with his wand of pyrotechnics. Abbott watched from afar. Yoghrï began playing with fireworks to add to the enjoyment of things but three constables began to rush in and have him cease. Before anything could be done, Abbott attempted to cast Hypnotic Pattern but it only stunned 1/3 of the officers. Yoghrï managed to flee during the odd confusion.

The party regrouped. As they did, Henrietta saw a sign that ousted her as an unfortunate but the rest of the party insisted otherwise. They saw an advert that suggested the wizard tower Henri studied at was up for usage and any interest was to be discussed with Dr. Sordove, Head of Advancements.

Mournival: The Extinction Invention

Along the way to the tower, the party saw the Mournival tent pitched up in a quieter area of the city. So, they stepped in and looked to see what was up.

Once settled in your seats, the spotlight flashes on center stage. There, a portrait of Mayor Bertram sits on a stand posing quite regally.

The Critic speaks up, “Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the one who could not make it to tonight’s show! The star over the City of Lumencraft, Mayor Clarence Bertram! If he lacks the consideration for us, think of everyone else he has disappointed!”

The stage begins to fill up with ragged and filthy commoners with coal stains and various injuries. They all glare at the portrait. The Sage then chimes in, “Oh certainly. It is a dying shame that there are more laborers than there are upstanding citizens aren’t there?”

The stage then gets a tense feeling as city commoners take the stage. Both of them eye the other suspiciously and with disgust.

You can hear the sneering in the Critic’s voice, “But what you’re thinking won’t be that easy. Though there are faithful Lumeners that occupy the city, I really must applaud the degree of scientific advancement that they have made.”

“Surely you refer to the trains, the clockwork assistants, and the breakthroughs in medical treatment? It makes you wonder what the next invention could be.”

The portrait of the Mayor becomes smashed and the crowd goes ballistic in tearing the other apart. When the dust settles, there is one Lumener and one laborer left as they climb on the pile of corpses trying to reach the other.

“Extinction,” the Critic simply states, “With so many people in the city, and with such tools, the pile of bodies from the carnage may as well allow you to reach the balcony of the Mayor’s Estate. It will not matter who reaches it first. There won’t be anyone to govern in the first place.”

A shadowy figure then walks on stage, darkening the light until it is only black.

The Sage’s voice is heard, “By that point, there is nothing.”

The lights flash back on to the stage, showing the two directors, ”That is all for today’s showing. Come again another time.”

At the end, Henrietta overhead from the Directors that the next showing would have the Nameless Host as one of the writers. She went backstage and sneakily grabbed the script. Normally, the scripts have had minimal effort print to associate the showing. This upcoming script simply had a black cover.

Once everyone had left the tent, Abbott casted Shatter at the tent’s support, bringing down the entire tarp. Looking through the remnants, Abbott didn’t see any sign of the Directors. All that remained were worried Actors thinking they would be punished for the tent’s fall.

Mage Tower Preview

The party reached the mage tower and followed the automaton tour guide. Henrietta certainly went through and recalled old memories. Clovis attempted to toy with the automaton, testing to see how sapient it could be.

On the way out, the party saw constables rushing to the aid of a fallen over and shivering civilian. It was someone who had one of the event’s popsicles which overdid the body’s cooling, causing hypothermia when in simply normal areas.

Return to East Harrow

The Thomter Twins returned at last. They broke down that the easiest means of freeing the roden is simply the control station. By deactivating the traps and opening the doors, the roden trapped inside can run off freely.

Post-Session 7/26 Developments for Abbott and Clovis

Clovis approached Abbott to discuss his affiliation with the Shade in question and outright questioned him about Abigail. Abbott reluctantly answered, handing him a pedigree to show that she was his daughter.

Clovis wanted to emphasize that he doesn’t judge people on their affiliations as his own father had dabbled with the Nameless Host before heading into the Mists. The consequences were clear, he had to relive so many heart-wrenching experiences of burying his father again and again. He didn’t want Abbott to endure a similar predicament.

On stepping out of the wagon, Actors from the Mournival offered Clovis to become part of Ensemble, removing the clear target on him. He declined, walking past them.
