Mournival Payment
Now, we start with a crowd outside the circle of wagons. Two figures easily stand out, those being the Critic and Sage directors amongst skittish actors. They look to Abbott’s direction as the Critic speaks up, “A wrong must be righted. A slight that must be punished.”
The Sage speaks up, “For that to be fulfilled, it becomes a question on who will receive it: The Father or the Other?”
Dragged up into view are a small set of actors who are forced to their knees by a big muscled brute.
Critic: “A decision must be made so a penance may be paid!”
Sage: “Surely it’s unfair to have others suffer as an option? It’s not logical, one would think, to bring our actors into this.”
Critic: “Life is unfair. Children are sacrificed for power, innocents are stepped on for personal gain, what difference does this make?”
Sage: “Well, a choice is given this time, I suppose.”
The Mournival Directors sought justice for Abbott ruining their tent. Clovis and Abbott stepped forward, taking the place of the actors that would have been punished.
After a brief but harsh beating, the Directors were content and left the party. A few actors stayed behind to thank the party, insisting that they will repay the kindness should they need it.
Roden Utopia Facility
Doctor Sordove, Ma’am? I haven’t heard you ask about the reports you wanted to see as of late. Things haven’t been right as rain these last few days and just to be sure, I have the latest results with me. Of course, if you want the older ones, I gave them to the tiefling researcher. I can grab those once you give me the word.
The party, with the aid of the Thomter Twins, infiltrated the facility. Constable Dennis, the head of security, would pipe in as the party meddled more and more with deactivating the traps and opening a set of doors to allow the roden free.
When in the prison section, they found roden that were either feral and ravenous with bitten tails or were socially inept and were focused on grooming themselves. A scientist had been toying with their blood samples and he and his two supervising constables were pounced by the party. They obtained his Enrager and Pacifier vials.
Finding Evander
Henrietta found Evander in one of the rooms the scientists stay in.
Opening the door, you see a haggard tiefling, definitely one thinner than what Henrietta has seen. He is frantic with his pencil movements as above him are recipe steps for potions and refining processes where the end result is the perfect roden sedative. He then pauses, seeing the outer light filter inside and slowly turns around. His eyes and cheeks are smeared with purple tears as you can see a force natural smile on his face.
Evander, with the long duration he must’ve been working within the facility, was found drugged with the infamous pills that substitute negative emotions with happier ones. Purple tears are one of the giveaway side effects. Initially, he was reluctant to go with Henrietta, believing it to be a test of Dr. Sordove’s. With time, he warmed up to tagging along… somewhat…
Constable Dennis
Dr. Sordove? With the traps being down and the door now opening up, I’m really worried something is definitely wrong since we haven’t had your approval to do so. I’ll send the lads in the prison section over to get that fixed.
Dennis buzzes the intercom again, not realizing the connection to Dr. Sordove was rerouted back to the facility’s
Hey, lads over in the prison section? Could you check out the door controls? That would be really great of yah!
The party went down the stairs to the exterior door controls. There, Constable Dennis, a tall and lanky man, eagerly awaited these troublemakers.
Oh, so you lot have been the ones breaking things down, have you? Well, it’s about time I see some action because I am full with the fury of the seraphs, and I’m right weary with holding back!
