Spirit Problems

For Abbott, Clovis, Henri

The Elder Shade, Abbott's patron, came to him. He sought to strike up a bargain:

  • Abbott would renounce his pact with Setesk, turning to the shade instead. He would then provide Abigail, who would be safe in the lantern, to his care.
  • Abbott refuses and the shade smashes the lantern, leaving Abigail to the mercy of the stray spirits within the Dread Domains.
  • Abbott chose to refuse the pact, shooting the elder shade with Eldritch Blasts. The elder shade then ran off, having the lantern smashed on the ground. It scurried off back to the Ethereal Plane.

    Setesk managed to direct Abigail's spirit to the unicorn toy Clovis pulled out from the Bag of Holding to at least have it "haunted" as some put it.
     

    During the night, Clovis went off to grab Yohgrï in the night, having him return to the grove.

    For Clovis and Yohgrï

    Clovis talked with Yohgrï and wanted his aid in helping to contain Abigail's spirit safely.


     

    In the morning, the Thomters were ready and eager to go light the beacon and get out of the domain but the party insisted they be patient and handle what ties they have to the domain.

    Once the party regrouped, Abbott mentioned that Clovis' father was found during the night prior and request help in safely containing him. Yohgrï then casted Soul Cage on Abbott's signet ring as the material. From there, they went back to camp.

    Conversations Galore

    For Henri and Abbott

    Henri and Abbott conversed about how he was holding up after the incident. They did discuss his wife but Abbott slowly began to fear the worst with her absense in later memories.


     
    For Henri

    When Henri stepped out of the wagon, Setesk greeted her. He mentioned that what Abbott had done was downright suicidal in antagonizing the elder shade. It will come back to strike the party in the future.


     

    Yohgrï talked with Karnell for a bit, wanting some wisdom. Karnell gestured to Elythos and explained that deities and celestials don't help at all. That seraph is only here purely because of that radiant blade, not for the wellbeing of us mortals. Watch him carefully.

    Henri's Friends

    Henri headed to finally meet her friends. The Thomters stopped her briefly, wanting to mention how they both were the same in wanting to keep loved ones safe. The main difference is that Henri is willing to go back to her roots, where the Thomters were not. They also distracted her briefly on how the Dread Domains are mostly fabricated but they let her go soon after.

    Henri met with her friends. They were in a far better state than where they last were. Maude actually could relax, Evander only chuckled when stressed a little bit, and Stellan could be a little more like himself. Otherwise, they all caught up briefly and Henri gave a goodbye.

    Meeting Stottard

    Yohgrï met with the Chief Constable after patiently waiting for him at the station. Turns out the revolutionaries had struck the power station. With the help of his insights, the clockwork's power got cut short instead of the whole city. The main issue is that, because of the party spooking the city leaders, security had a tighter grip than the Chief Constable anticipated by the Machine's doing. The losses the revolutionaries took was a bit more than planned and Zerthos is irritated.

    Now back in East Harrow, the party regrouped and plans to have a brief meeting to coordinate on attacking the clockwork factory.

    Revolutionary Check-in

    The party met with the revolutionaries and found Zerthos' crew had targeted the power station. Because of city council getting spooked, security got a little more heightened and changed, causing more few more losses than anticipated. Helman Stottard's insider knowledge did mostly help, it was those specific changes that messed things up for them.

    The party assessed what the Mournival's message was and realized that the Host wasn't keen to consume the domain, it only would if very little remained of the city, which was likely given how technology advanced Lumencroft is.

    At least in silver linings, the intensive security from the clockworks has drained far more power now with the key parts of the power station dismantled.

    Clockwork Factory

    Along the way to the city, the party noticed that the Mournival was leaving the city. Clovis suspected it's akin to birds fleeing a dangerous source.

    Inside the city and to the Labor District, the party utilized the Juniper Enclave's attack to slip into the Clockwork Factory. However, the first person they met was Waldemar Beck, the Messenger. He offered the party a means to allow Null creatures to do the work for them should they open a Black Gateway.

    The party declined, letting the Messenger past. The party then proceeded into the Clockwork Factory...
