Interrupted Processions

The party returned to Divinterre and found the Cardinal having a procession with his clergy and guards around the city. Interrupting his moment were Venezians running out into the streets with red, green, and white banners being waved around. Couteau was about to have Valerian engage the troublesome Venezians but the Lieutenant disappeared elsewhere. Irritated, Couteau defaulted to a sergeant to have it resolved.

Captain Havre soon stormed out into the crowd, telling both sides to stand down before things were to get messy. Both the Cardinal and Venezians reluctantly agreed.

The party tracked down the Lieutenant using the Arcanum Infinitum to find him. They interrogated his purpose of ducking away, to which he explained he wanted to track down any Venezians who may have gotten loose. Why Havre wasn’t part of it is supposedly that he had other tedious tasks bogging him down.

After some scrutiny, it’s possible that Valerian ducked away to avoid dealing with the Venezians.

Meeting Captain Havre

The party finally reaches the Captain. They discuss about matters and find that the Captain is not fond of his zealous superior either. So, the party devise that investigating who and what this Misty Rider is could lead to something crucial in keeping the town safe.

Investigation Begins

The Stellaist Hideout

The party finds that there is an interesting puzzle afoot within the cathedral. So, after finding a connection between oddly shaped and placed buttons connected to stained glass paintings, they find an observatory. A journal that was left behind describes that a secret hideout of the Stellaic Circle is what this is. It was built during Notre Majeste’s own construction and its purpose was to investigate further in seeing the “Gloom” star sign. It went away afterwards yet it appeared again on the day Couteau attempted to drive out and slaughtered many Venezians on the Riverguard bridge. The author left the book behind for other Stellaic members to know what is afoot as he went to Caldogne to find further help.

Bloodwater Theater

After being informed of the Riverguard Bridge massacre, Havre advised to check the Bloodwater Theater. Despite it being haunted, Couteau insists that it stays up instead of torn down. A wicked grin always appears on his face when he sees the state that place is in.

The party investigates the broken down theater and find that it’s haunted by Mirella Cavallo, a Venezian spirit killed by the Cardinal after performing a satire about the Vindicates. She was in love with Corriero, who, is actually the Misty Rider. She emphasizes that without his head, he is blinded in his pursuit and kills on sight. By returning the skull, only then can he find a step toward peace.

The Skull

The returns to the Stellaist obersvatory and cast Locate Object to discover that the skull is deep beneath the cathedral. They plan to look during the nightfall.
