Summary
Barenor was exiled into Florenelle by his father, along with his sympathizers. These elves then had to make life their own way, far from the comforts of Elvarid forests. It's around this time that their Faene presence, influenced by this alternative lifestyle of being among nature than admiring it nearby.
During the Necromantic War, these forests were ravaged and poisoned by Arkonian beasts of Count Constantine. By the war's end and only a few years after the Restoration Era, the forest sought to reclaim its home. Gnoll hordes became crushed by ambulatory trees and vines suffocated what monsters did breathe. Ardentia, the Lady of Pineveil, made herself known.
The Arkonian Order fled from those strange forests. What was meant to be dead came back with a revitalized vengeance. Any further occupation could not be sustained with what twisted natural world would not allow. From then on, intruders were not allowed anywhere near those woodlands. Doing so would mean having to brave the perils of sentient vines and trees crashing down on you. The Lady runs those woods and prefers to be alone.

The most often changed factors of Pineveil are who gets attacked by the flora and fauna. The overall message stays the same of never going into those woods without invitation.
