Zhang Empire
The eldest nation of Yanping.
Structure
Emperor
At the highest point of the Empire is the Emperor and his family. Often, the eldest takes the position of Emperor while the rest of the family enjoy the benefit. They also have the deciding choice of who they appoint as their marshal for the army and lords to rule over lands.
Marshal
At the Emperor's side as the close second is the Marshal of the army. Their job is to manage the Empire's defenses and security, often sending one of their commanders to be captain of the city guard.
[p[If the marshal is found to be a conspirator against the throne, the Emperor can use the generals beneath him who have sworn an oath of loyalty.Nobility
The nobility are appointed by their Emperor or descend from that special privilege to govern over a settlement. They are tasked with coordinating with the marshal's subordinates to secure the city's wellbeing in terms of enforcing the law. Nobles are also responsible for reporting to the Emperor about the status of their town personally. If the Emperor believes that the noble has failed in their duty, they can be discharged, often without violence. A noble's execution is only reserved if they are responsible for an atrocity.

Military
Recruitment into the army can vary between volunteering or being drafted during dire times.
The Zhangese army is notorious for its more common use of crossbows and glaives. The royal guard is especially further trained in the use of glaives ever since it became an icon.
Religion
Yinlongism
The most dominant religion, that being because of where it has originated, is the Yinlong.
Gregorian Church
Because of Rhinelander and Valencian settling off the small coastal islands, Gregorianism has managed to find its way into reaching not only the Zhang, but also seep into the rest of Yanping. Some Zhangese regard this odd religion to be more of a cure for guilt than finding harmony with oneself.
