Half-Elves

Half-Elves are the best of two kin. They were born from humans and elves after these two kin traded hostages during The Shift. They were conceived because those things that are good, strong, and vibrant always find their way to each other. Their elven ancestors taught them the ways of magic, granted them wisdom and long life, but they rejected their torpid languor. Their human ancestors gave them vigor, but the Half-Elves rejected their foolishness and falsehood in disgust, as well as their smell and crude appearance. Both their ancestral kin, elves as well as humans, have failed them, and they are the subject of both ridicule and bitter shame. The half-elves are the crown of creation and they will strike forth to finally mold the world into what the gods, or Half-Elves themselves, intended.
