Titanus Oil (Tee-tan-Us Oy-L)

Titanus Oil. The fuel behind every piece of emerging technology is one of a rather grim circumstance. Firearms, grappling hooks, and some automatons alike are fueled by this very viscous, dark colored oil. Giving a faint smell of charred earth with a hint of copper, it is a very dense and potent material. For years the artificers and alchemical savants have tried to optimize this rare substance so the need for an abundance isn't as much of an issue. Some breakthroughs have come through but still not enough to solve the issue of scarcity.   Titaus Oil is extracted from the bones of a freshly fallen Titan carcasses and it is a very strenuous process for the small amount of oil extracted. Once a Titan has been slain, a specialized team of "Scrappers" will arrive at the scene to begin cultivating the beast, searching for the most prime pieces for weaponry, sustenance, and most importantly oil. Once they have found the prime candidates for the process, a team of alchemists will then begin a ritual which involves a little bit of gravity magic to compress the bone while another uses a steady flow of faint acidic magic to tear away the protective outer layer of the bone. This ritual can take almost 3 days worth of time and will only produce a keg of oil to be used so this oil is a vey valuable substance amongst the five pillar cities. Specialized Firearms use this substance as a primary catalyst to propel ammunition out of the barrel. Automatons use this oil as a primary source of energy within their central chamber and Warforged have been known to supplement themselves with it to optimize their performance. It is also used in conjunction with their own Magic Technologies to create powerful tools to help create more effective barriers against the Titans.
