Skyfield Monastery
An ancient military outpost turned monastery on one of tallest peaks of the Azure Mountains , it stands between the old world, now covered by the Frost, and the new world; the Forge Islands.
Its origin is largely unknown and has passed through many hands since its creation. Currently, it holds monks of the Paragon's Gaze as well as some members of the Feline Dynasty . It hosts a large library that was largely populated when the fort was first discovered by the catfolk and since then has been used for storing and keeping their knowledge.
It's position is key to its long survival; the monastery stands in the crevice of the two largest peaks of the mountain that protect it from most of the cold winds and exposure. It's also on top of a large cave system that spans miles and miles deeper into the mountain, some of which contain thermal springs that circulate all around it and keep the earth there warmer.
Only the monks there seem to know all of Skyfield's secret paths, but that knowledge is what helps them survive at the edge of the now known world.

Natural Resources
The monastery's only natural resource apart from the thermal springs, whose water is rich in healthy minerals and safe to drink, are mushrooms. The caves underneath its walls are littered with rare fungi that serve both as food and medicine.
The God's Eye mushroom is the most notable among them, said to relieve pain and sever symptoms as well as "opening the patient's eyes to the true nature of the world" as the monks describe. Its effect is similar to a hallucinogen, though the monks refuse to describe it as such, instead believing that it's a holy plant given to them by their god.
