Hag

The following information is sourced from the Forgotten Realms Wiki.

Hags are horrible witches of wicked intent and ancient origin, dark fey tied to primal forces whose foul magic and mysterious malevolence haunted fairy tales and nightmares. Equal parts hideous and heinous, hags embody what it means to be ugly inside and out, taking on the forms of unsightly old women. They are the antithesis of Feywild natives like the eladrin, for they are warped reflections of civilized beings that epitomize nature at its most repugnant.

Subspecies

Annis Hag

An annis hag is the most dreaded kind, spreading fear through fiction and ruling through it in reality. The child-eating hags are the undisputed queens of barbarism, combining the wicked cruelty of dark fey with the unbridled strength of evil giants.

Bheur Hag

Bheur hags are known by many names, including blue hags, white hags, and winter hags. The wicked witches of winter are cold-hearted ice queens said to bring the season's cold, but it is possible the sadistic fey are simply drawn to the frost.

Bone Hag (HB)

Bone hags are so rarely encountered that most consider them a myth. Undead fey creatures that straddle the borders of life and death, they consume the life essence of living creatures to prolong their own unnatural existence. They are extremely powerful, and few who encoutner them live to tell the tale.

Green Hag

Green hags are the most common type of hag, foul creatures known for their deceitful ways and corrupting natures. Like dark druids, they are vile beings with a strong connection to the natural world, and they prey upon primal vices in order to sow anguish and drag all down into bestial savagery.

Night Hag

Night hags are wicked witches that dwell in the Lower Planes whose nightmarish minds and abilities make them appear to embody the ideals of the hag race. They were known for their ability to induce horrific dreams and for harvesting soul larvae, which are used as currency in the Abyss, Blood Rift, and Nine Hells.

Sea Hag

Sea hags are the most repilsive and wretched of hags and are prideful in their gruesome appearance. The wicked fey live near or within large bodies of water and the unfortunate souls that set eyes on them are often feasted on shortly after.
