Talia Greywood was not always a Lady of Waterdeep. The result of an affair between her father Lord Alrek Greywood and the elven herbalist Rowan Liadon, Talia grew up with her mother at the southern edge of the High Forest. She was an extremely precocious child, prone to wandering the forest while her mother wasn’t looking. On one such walk, Talia fell out of our mortal realm and into that of the Feywild where she came across a fey creature. Luckily, the fey did not wish Talia any harm and saw her back to the material plane safely - and with a gift. Wild Magic. Talia delighted in her magic, and practiced in secret so that she could surprise her mother. But when she did, her magic surged out of her control, setting fire to her home with both her and her mother inside. In a strange twist of fate, Lord Alrek Greywood’s wife had just died giving birth to a stilborn child. In his grief, Lord Greywood swore to never father another child and called for Talia and her mother to be brought to Waterdeep so that she might become his heir. The men he sent to retrieve them arrived to a home set ablaze where they pulled Talia from the fire - but could not save her mother. And so Talia was brought to Waterdeep and legitimized, thrust into nobility days after her mother’s death. Afraid of what her magic could do, Talia turned to a more academic study of the Arcane arts and gained a fascination with dragons.
