Albrec

Born in the Dock Ward of Waterdeep to parents who were unable to feed themselves, much less a son, Albrec was, in a few years, left an orphan. During the War, he and a gang of hoodlums stuck together to survive. They would steal food from any place they could and would take shelter in ruins of buildings.    Eventually, the war was over, and over time, the band became less and less coherent with each other. He kept in touch with many of the other street rats, as they were most affectionately called by those rich enough to have roofs over their heads, and by keeping in touch, they managed to keep each other alive with tips about where to eat, sleep, and generally survive the poor streets of the large city.    By twelve, he had pretty much gotten the survival thing down. Some days would be begging, others were burglary, but however he did it, he made sure that no one was hurt. He would never steal from those who couldn't afford it. He also made sure that any new kids on the street were properly taken care of, whether it was by showing them to a orphanage, or by taking them under his wing for a few weeks to get them acclimated to being homeless, as much as that was possible.   He was also a hard worker if the opportunity presented itself. Usually that meant being a look out for criminals, or a pickpocket to those who wanted keys or other bobbles out of pockets, but sometimes he would give people directions, or other information they sought.   When Illidrex hired him to deliver a message to Kal, he was happy to oblige. He knew the masked man from being from the same area as where the bard performed. On top of that, apparently Illidrex paid well, better than most. Albrec was intrigued by this, and the offer from the strange man to seek out other information for payment. What information? The bard was not specific, but Albrec definitely passed the word out to some of his close friends, and they seemed open to  helping out Illidrex if he needed it, and had the right coin.
