The Battle of Sundabar
A month after the Savage Seven perished at the hands of the Githyanki, the shadowfell city of Gloomwrought appeared floating in the skies over the eastern silver marches. It floated to Sundabar, where an army of shades and shadar-kai emerged from the city and overtook Sundabar and its undercity. News reached the eastern silver marches quickly, and an alliance was formed between Mithral Hall, Nesme and Silverymoon. An army was sent, including several mercenary companies from Nesme and the council of Silverymoon led by The Silver Mask himself.
The army cleared Sundabar of shades, and the Silver Mask led a company of wizards, the dwarf Garn Silveraxe and adventurers into the floating city of Gloomwrought. Inside, they found the Lord of Shade Firble Gemcutter (having absorbed the remaining princes of shade, aside from Melegaunt). Many fell to his powerful magic, but in the end the shadowy lich was destroyed (or banished to the shadowfell, some wizards believe) and the floating city came crashing down atop Sundabar. The resulting crash utterly destroyed the surface city, along with most of the dwarven undercity. Dwarven refugees fled to Mithral hall, Citadel Adbar and Citadel Fellbarr while others from the surface city scattered across the Silver Marches to Everlund, Silverymoon and Nesme. The underdark remains unpatrolled due to the Phaerimm threat, but the planar instability has ceased and shadar-kai haven’t been seen there since the battle of Sundabar.
The fate of Teldaron Silvermask and the heroes who brought down Gloomwrought is unknown.
