Gryndel Selarn
I'm going hunting, I shall return...tomorrow, perhaps. Take care of each other, my doves.Gryndel Selarn was the ruler of Secomber prior to the War of Secomber Succession.
Physical Appearance
Gryndel was a plain looking man with light brown hair and a prominent nose, average in most respects.
Personality
Gryndel was a competent, but not a spectacular ruler. He lived in the shadow of his grand sire, the well-respected Traskar Selarn, a ranger who ruled Secomber with a light hand. Gryndel perpetually felt he was inadequate and was prone to bouts of depression.
Sigil
Field of blue quarted by crossed golden bars.History
Gryndel, like his father and grandfather, left most of the actual rulership of Secomber to the Rods, a council of elders that ruled on most matters of state. He was devoted to his wife, Laurissa, a commoner whom he married for love. She died in child birth, his firstborn son stillborn. Overcome with grief, Gryndel left on a hunt, ostensibly to take his mind off the tragedy. In truth, it was a way for him to commit suicide without dishonoring his family. Upon his death, the title to his house was left in doubt between his twin sisters, sparking the War of Secomber Succession.
