Ashardalon

Ashardalon was an ancient red dragon, thousands of years old. He was one of the most feared warriors among chromatic dragons, possessing incomparable skill in battle and war strategies. His hunger for power and control was legendary, and many cults worshipped him as a deity.
Ashardalon played a big part in the war between the chromatic(evil) and metallic(good) dragons. Legends say that he led the red and green dragon armies to defeat the brass dragon armies who so far managed to push back the brown dragon armies. Ashardalon killed Yurinias, the brass dragon king, and after victory ordered all the brown dragons slain for their weakness.
Years later, Ashardalon became general for Gulthias the Red King, leading his dragon armies to battle against Valamaradace the Silver King. They fought for a long time with no clear winner, until in a decisive battle, Valamaradace slayed Ashardalon, carving out his heart and dropping his body into Mt Hotenow, a volcano. No one has heard of the fearsome red dragon since.
