Gulthias

Gulthias was a vampire lord and master wizard. Calling himself the Red King, he waged war against Valamaradace, the Silver King over 300 years ago. Gulthias commanded an army of dragons led by Ashardalon, an ancient and fearsome red dragon.
Stories tell that in a decisive battle, Valamaradace fatally wounded Ashardalon, carving out his heart. The body of the red dragon fell into Mt. Hotenow, a volcano near Neverwinter Wood. Ashardalon hasn't been seen or heard from since.
Gulthias refused to accept the death of his army commander and desperately searched for ways to find and return him. He became obsessed with his quest and started worrying he might die before completing it. Therefore, he went through the secret and painful ritual to turn himself into a vampire, extending his life.
Rumors say that Gulthias was last seen several hundreds years ago in the Sunless Citadel, where he was chasing another lead in fulfilling his mission. Unfortunately, he was slain there by a group of adventurers, cutting the way to his goal, and his life, short.
A stranger, bearing the symbol of Gulthias and using the name the Red King has been seen recently around the area of Neverwinter Wood and the Sword Mountains.
