The Gulthias Tree

Decades ago within the Sunless Citadel a powerful vampire was killed using a stake. Years passed and the fortress crumbled, creating a grove within the Citadel, and a tree sprouted from the stake. Over the course of many more years the tree grew bigger and more powerful.
Twice a year the Gulthias Tree sprouts an apple-like fruit - a white one in the winter, and a glistening red fruit during the summer. Like the tree, the apples are magical and when eaten cause a different effect depending on the color. Over time, a druid named Belak the Outcast, discovered the tree after hearing rumors of its potential power. There he remained, tending after the grove and enslaving unwary adventurers who wandered there as thralls for the tree, losing all purpose but to protect and serve Belak and the grove.
