Physical Description

Body Features

Bak is a 6 foot tall orc with a very muscular frame and imposing features.

Facial Features

His left eye is covered by a grayish white cloth patch. His ears are wolf-like and pointed on the ends. He has a low forehead and a porcine face. He also has large canine teeth that resemble boar tusks.

Apparel & Accessories

He wears black plate armor and the helmet has a flat visor that he usually keeps up unless in battle. He carries a metal shield emblazoned with the symbol of Gruumsh, a dark pink colored eye with a cat like iris. He carries a longsword in a sheathe at his side.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Bak was once a member of a roving band of orcs who pillaged the land for years before finally being put down by the guards of Waterdeep. Bak roamed the land aimlessly for a while after that, making a living as a sellsword. One night, after a particularity violent battle Bak had a vision and upon waking, carved out his left eye and covered it with a black patch and obtained divine power from Gruumsh. Sometime later he met Nay who upon a show of strength convinced him to join him to form the initial members of the Black Star, named by a vision Nay says he had one night. One day they were hired to put down an insane Tabaxi who had been killing across the countryside, after a long battle with her, Bak decided she was worthy of respect and decided to add her to the group (Nay's condition was she be kept under a lock spell just in case).
Bak was killed by Mug during the battle at Secomber and revived a Tenday later by Aldy. Bak joined back up to help his friend Nay be released from his plight and for another chance to fight Mug, having developed a grudging respect for him after he defeated him. All he wants to get in fights with tough opponents and he found a worthy enemy in Mug.

Low, only knows what the orcs taught him about battle and what he learned from visions of Gruumsh.

Bak follows Nay and is motivated to raid, kill and conquer. However, he also will obey commands given by Nay. He owes his survival to him after all.
