Seldra Tylmarandre Character in Forgotten Realms+ | World Anvil

Seldra Tylmarandre

Seldra was described as an attractive brunette woman. She commonly wore leather armor with a brown cloak and wielded a longsword that she kept at her hip. Seldra's parents (both of whom were half-elves) were adventurers and is the great-niece of Aribeth de Tylmarande whom Seldra is said to bear resemblance to her aunt, especially in times of war when she dons the ancestral armor of her family. She also had a spellscar on her arm. She rarely activated her spellscar, but when she does, it wreaths her arms and face in blue fire. Often quiet and introspective, when she did speak she was assertive but also diplomatic. She appeared open-minded but was in truth highly manipulative. Seldra felt that her aunt Aribeth's legacy was one she had to live down and chose to restore the good name of her family by removing the tyranny from her home city.

Aribeth De Tylmarande

Lady Aribeth de Tylmarande was a half-elf paladin of Tyr, the Blind God of Justice, and a member of the Tylmarande family. Aribeth was born in Thundertree, a town in the Neverwinter Woods, of uncertain parentage; some say a union between half-elves, others a moon elf and a human. She learned to be a paladin, gaining such fame that when she moved to Neverwinter, she was named the elite bodyguard of Lord Nasher Alagondar, being the first woman and first non-human to be so honored. After a set of tragic events resulted in her betrothed love being found guilty of reason to the City of Neverwinter and unjustly executed the paladin was tempted by the darkness falling to become a blackguard joining forces with the cult in service of Morag leading an assault on Neverwinter but was ultimately defeated and soon executed for her crimes.   The Tylmarande family remained in Neverwinter after Aribeth's death and were some of those who refused to leave when Mount Hotenow erupted. Aribeth's great niece Seldra Tylmarande spent much of her life trying to restore the name of her family to a respectable status.

"You wish to know about Neverwinter? First, not everyone believes that Lord Neverember is the answer to the city's prayers. Second, the city is shattered, not just physically, but in many ways. Lastly, almost everyone there has an agenda."    — Seldra Tylmarandre
