Obsidian Pillar

One of the Five Pillars of Relmaur.

Points of Interest

Blackdagger

The city derives its name from this large pillar located near the center of the cavern. Three granite pillars gracefully merge from the cavern floor to form one central pillar. Protrusions of sharp obsidian glass have been inlaid into the granite, giving the surface a strange, soft look from afar. Inside, the living spaces are served by magical levitating elevators made of white crystal. The structure houses approximately 2,000 citizens. The Vesthrak noble clan makes its home here in the upper floors of the tower.

Blackdagger Wall

A magical wall of translucent gray glass encircles Blackdagger. When attacked, the wall of glass turns entirely opaque and shatters explosively outwards, away from the pillar, when attacked from the outside. The wall, when breached, reassembles itself nearly instantaneously.

Dragon Arches

The main avenue of this city is called Dragon Street because of the array of carved archways that line that street, each carved with noble looking dragons.

Reflecting Pool

To the east is a perfectly circular reflecting pool surrounded by stone benches. Phosphorescent mushrooms on the ceiling look like stars in the sky, and when reflected in the pool, create the likeness of a deep, starry abyss.

Warden Academy

Located in the northern part of town, this walled campus creates some of the most formidable warriors of the realm, the Wardens. The Wardens combine martial prowess with the ability to bend the elements to their will. The Warden Academy was the center of arcane study in Relmaur until the Spellplague connected Laerakond to the Weave of Toril. Prior to this, the only source of magic in Laerakond was derived from the Dawn Titans or from the blood of dragons.

Zorrakas Lyceum

Built into the western dome wall, this multistory school is a distinguished institute of learning.

Tilmeth Prison

Carved from the bedrock, this cold, dark dungeon is where Relmaur houses its most heinous criminals.

The Mysterium

A small library that specializes in rare books. The collection is off limits to the public.

The Nightingale

An exclusive bath house and spa. The waiting list is very long unless you know the right people.

Bluestone

To the west, several city blocks that were destroyed during the Spellplague have been turned into a deep rothé dairy farm called Bluestone. Bluestone is responsible for producing most of the dairy products consumed by the kingdom.

Chateau of Howard Taverton

The wealthiest human in Relmaur makes his home here. He retired from adventuring before Moonfall, but rumors of his enormous pile of gemstones and misanthropic personality has made him something of a legend.
